All paving is laid on a sub-base that is made up of compacted type 1 scalpings. The depths of the base vary according to the soil type that it is laid upon. For example if you are in an area that is on a clay soil the depth of the base will be approximately 35% deeper than that of normal soil conditions. In all cases the minimum depth will be no less than 100mm.

With regard to block paving, geo textile matting will be introduced between the sub-base and the sand screed. This prevents the sand filtering into the sub-base causing the paving to sink. All falls will be calculated to allow surface water drainage to occur and any drainage facilities can be introduced.

Lighting is another feature we can incorporate to enhance the paving features that we have installed.

Block Paving

We recommend that all block paving is sealed with a resin sealer to stabilize the jointing sand, enhance the colours and protect the paving from oil spills and the elements of the weather.
