Final Outcome:
Two IPE Brazilian walnut hardwood-decking levels were created
with an upper level at the rear of the garden.
The main deck outside the rear access door created ample seating
area for entertaining and the upper level was large enough for
a table with 4 – 6 chairs.
The two areas were connected with a path created out of Black Natural
Indian limestone and steps up onto a deck walkway over a water
feature / stream.
The water feature consists of a stainless steel letterbox opening
out of the face of the upper deck creating a clean sheet of water
dropping into the stream running down towards the lower decking
area. This creates an ambient sound of water without being obtrusive.
A bottom drain was fitted at the lower deck end of the stream,
with a 100mm pipe running underground to a balance tank sunk into
the ground. The balance tank houses the pump, a mains water top
up system and a brominator (A bromine dispenser to keep the water
crystal clear) the water is then pumped up to the chute built into
the deck.
Stainless steel Led deck lights were installed in the upper deck
and the risers of the steps and halogen spotlights to illuminate
the water feature and structural plants.
Planting was then installed as the last part of the project.
Total build cost including
all materials and labour £9800
